The FVES Staff is requesting parents to refrain from checking out students from 3:00-3:20 p.m.  It is important for students to be in class during this time, so they can finish their classroom lessons and get their daily homework.  Thank you for your cooperation.

We would like to remind parents that student safety is very important to us at French Valley Elementary School. Each year we re-evaluate our traffic problems and parent concerns. Every effort is made to accommodate students and parents in a timely manner when arriving and leaving school during dismissal time. We ask parents to use caution, patience and courtesy when dropping off and picking up students. Please follow the instructions of our teachers that are doing dismissal duty after school.

Important District Announcement

Thursday, August 23, 2018, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Grades 1st - 5th

Don't miss this great opportunity to meet your child's teacher, learn classroom routines and expectations, and ask those important questions.

Due to the fact that our entire staff will be making presentation during the evening, it is preferred that children do not attend, as there will be no direct adult supervision provided and classroom seating is very limited.  If children must attend

Back-to-School Night they are asked to sit quietly with their parents.

5:45 p.m.            PTA Association Meeting in Multi-Purpose Room

6:00 p.m.            Welcome Message, Teacher & PTA Introductions in Multi-Purpose Room

6:25-6:55 p.m.    Classroom Presentation #1

Leafing Our Mark with Positive Behavior

PBIS (Friendship Room)

What is Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)?

PBIS is a research-based, school-wide systems approach to improve school climate and create safer and more effective schools.

PBIS IS a process.  PBIS IS NOT a program or curriculum.

The process focuses on improving a school's ability to teach expectations and support positive behavior for all students.

PBIS provides systems for schools to design, implement, and evaluate effective school-wide, classroom, non-classroom, and student-specific discipline plans.

PBIS is a team-based process for data review, data-based problem solving and intervention, ongoing planning, and monitoring of interventions.

PBIS implementation includes school-wide procedures and processes intended for:

ALL students, ALL staff and in ALL settings.  This includes individual classrooms and teachers AND non-classroom setting and related staff.

The Goal of PBIS:

Improve student academic and behavior outcomes.  PBIS is about ensuring all students have access to the most effective and accurately implemented behavioral practices and interventions possible.

PBIS provides a framework for achieving these outcomes.  More importantly, PBIS is not a curriculum, but is a decision making framework that guides selection and implementations of the best evidence based behavioral practices for improving behavior outcomes for all students.
